Welcome! I’m reporter Ella Gonzales. Currently, I work for the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a service journalist. I have found my niche in restaurant reviews and "Inside Looks." As well as started an "On the Budget" column where I explore something in Fort Worth once a month for under $25. 

My reporting has also gone beyond Texas. In 2024, I had the opportunity to be a Pulitzer global reporting fellow. Through this I traveled alone to Poland for two weeks to report on Ukrainian women who were navigating a more permanent life in Warsaw and Krakow. I wrote an article, field note as well as shot my own photos. I'll always remember sharing Ukrainian cherry wine with my sources and eating Polish dumplings while getting to know them. 

My hobbies include sourdough baking, charcuterie making and shopping at the Dallas Farmers Market (every week!). My passion lies in food and culture. I believe that food brings people together in a way that nothing else can. 

While I live in Dallas with my boyfriend and two orange cats, Fred & George, I hope to pursue a career that keeps my belly full and readers hungry.
