Welcome! I’m reporter Ella Gonzales. Currently, I work for the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a service journalist. I have found my niche in restaurant reviews and "Inside Looks." As well as started an "On the Budget" column where I explore something in Fort Worth once a month for under $20. 

In December 2023, I graduated from Texas Christian University with my Bachelor's degree in Journalism, with a minor in Communications.  I was fortunate enough to spend 2.5 years at TCU dabbling between print and broadcast journalism when I realized what I really love to do was writing. 

I was initially drawn to journalism because of my natural extroversion. I've always found myself drawn to connecting with new people. Journalism has combined my love for hearing other's stories and creative writing.

I got to pursue doing just that during my Pulitzer Center reporting fellowship where I traveled to Poland for two weeks to report on Ukrainian refugee women. My time there taught me so much about global reporting and I was able to immerse myself in both Polish and Ukrainian cultures. 

Though I have yet to find my niche or beat, I feel lucky to have tried many forms of reporting in which you can see on my portfolio.
